John Quinton
President
I was born in Montréal and grew up in Knowlton, a small town in the eastern townships just south east of Montreal. I moved to Toronto for High School and graduated an Ontario Scholar. While in Toronto I worked as a handyman helping with light renovations to rental units for friends of my mother. I then went on to University completing an undergraduate degree in Marine Biology and a Masters Degree in Zoology at the University of BC. I then began working on my PhD at Simon Fraser University. Along the way I met and married my wife and we had a family. During my studies I began working for my Father in Law, John Adams, a developer in Vancouver.
In 1981 I started Quinton Installations doing tenant improvements for Adams Properties. We branched out into more commercial interior work and did a lot of work with Spectra Group doing restaurant renovations. During this period we began doing more residential renovation work for people we had met through the commercial work.
Quinton Construction has specialized in residential renovation and new construction since then. It is a family business run by myself and my wife, with my daughter and son in the office. We have specialized as a high service quality residential renovation company, committed to our clients, our employees and our community. We are active in professional associations such as the Greater Vancouver Homebuilders Association; we are a registered RenoMark Contractor and member of the Better Business Bureau. We are registered with the ITA and have an active apprenticeship training program. I am also a strong believer in the heritage of Vancouver and sit as a member of the board of directors of the Vancouver Heritage Foundation. |
